Ajo, Arizona is an old copper mining town that has been
reborn and is now a haven for retirees, artists and escapees of the rat
race.
It is an isolated community that is surrounded by the Organ Pipe Cactus
National Monument, Cabeza Prieta Wildlife Preserve, Barry Goldwater Air Force
Base and the Tohono O'odham Indian Reservation. Mt Kitt Observatory is
about 60 miles away and when you see the night skies you'll know why.
It's the law that only low glare lights are to be used for the streets so that
the Observatory is not bothered. We benefit in the consistently beautiful
starry nights. The sunsets are incredible too...
It was a company town so all the basic necessities of life are here.
Including one boarding kennel. The only one for 80 miles in any
direction.

House - 1020 sq. ft, 2 bedroom 1 bath with lg. family room and lg. kitchen, total 8 rooms. Covered patio in back and privacy courtyard in front.
House has tile floors throughout, Satillo (Mexican) in the main part and bedrooms with ceramic in the kitchen, bath and laundry rooms. All the windows in the house have been replaced in the last year including the new garden window in the kitchen. New roof 3 yr. ago and insulation & new A/C heat pump 2 yr. ago. LP gas hot water and stove. The interior of the house has been totally remodeled and there are ceiling fans in most rooms. City Water. New (3/95) On-site Sanitary Sewer. Electric from Arizona Power and Supply. Phone- Tabletop Telephone, with local WWW connection available. Currently 2 phone lines connected.
Of course there is a lg. size doggie door in the laundry room that goes out to the back fenced area.

There are 2 kennel buildings both efficiently designed.
The second building is for smaller dogs and has 7 inside/outside runs. Runs are covered and shaded also have mini-link. This building has an A/C unit.
DOG SHOWS
As far as the dog shows...you have Phoenix & Tucson only 1 1/2 hrs away, all of Southern Calif is just across the border and New Mexico is a stones throw. I have also had a great deal of fun putting Mexican Championships on my dogs.WEATHER
Yes, in the summer it gets hot here but, there is a 10% humidity level. I have found it easier to deal with than the Northern Hot and Humid summers. An added plus is that there are very few insects. - No fleas - and I always hated mosquitos....<g>....Yard work in the desert, is only what you want to do!
